A fast counting method for generic order intermodulation products
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non linear devices such as amplifiers and electro-optical transducers introduce spurious signals known as intermodulations, especially when multiple signals at different frequencies access the system. In this paper an extension to the well known Fast Counting Algorithm (FCA) for the intermodulations is presented and a comparison with slow counting algorithms is done. Carrier configuration is represented by means of indicator polynomials, and high-order intermodulation products distribution can be computed in a fast way, extending the results restricted to third order intermodulations. Moreover, no particular assumption is done on the distribution of the carriers (i.e. they are not required to be equispaced). Comparisons are made in terms of accuracy and speed with slow direct counting algorithms.

Simplemethod for intermodulation products counting in multicarrier systems
This paper presents a novel algorithm for intermodulation products counting in multicarrier systems. Intermodulation products are caused by the nonlinearity of the amplifiers’ transfer characteristic. Along the transmission network, broadband amplifiers are needed to boost up the signal level and compensate the signal attenuation. When the number of carriers increases, the number of intermodula...
متن کاملThe Suppression of Intermodulation Products in Multichannel Amplifiers Close to Saturation
New linearization technique that reduces the thirdand fifth-order intermodulation products is proposed in this paper. It suggests the injection of second harmonics (IM2) at the amplifier input whereas the IM2 signals and fourth-order nonlinear signals (IM2+IM4) are fed into the amplifier output. The reduction of the thirdand fifth-order intermodulation products has been achieved by applying a n...
متن کاملA Novel Geometry for Circular Series Connected Multilevel Inductors for CMOS RF Integrated Circuits
A method for reducing the two-tone third-order intermodulation products arising from two carrier frequencies at 1.95 and 2.00 GHz is demonstrated in a traveling wave tube-distributed amplifier. The optimum amplitude and phase of an injected second harmonic and the resulting intermodulation suppression of up to 24.2 dB are examined for fundamental drive levels approaching saturation.

In this paper, a new simulation method for two-tone characteristics calculations and the third-order intercept point (OIP3) of heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) in large-scale time domain is proposed. Base on waveform relaxation (WR) and monotone iterative (MI) methods, we solve a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) of equivalent circuit. With this approach, the two-tone...
متن کاملImproving Linearity of CMOS Variable-gain Amplifier Using Third-order Intermodulation Cancellation Mechanism and Intermodulation Distortion Sinking Techniques
This paper presents an improved linearity variable-gain amplifier (VGA) in 0.18-µm CMOS technology. The linearity improvement is resulted from employing a new combinational technique, which utilizes third-order-intermodulation (IM3) cancellation mechanism using second-order-intermodulation (IM2) injection, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) sinking techniques. The proposed VGA gain cell co...
